RHT D

Shore D Rubber Hardness Tester with backlit display

Features:
  • Integrated probe and light weight design.
  • Average value function and max data hold.
  • Automatic power-off and low battery indication.
  • Metric to imperial conversion.
  • Inbuilt software calibration.

Applications:

Shore D scale is used for testing hard elastomers and most other polymer materials (thermoplastics, thermosets) like hard rubber, thermoplastic elastomers, harder plastics and rigid thermoplastics, with hardness values greater than 90A.

Measuring Principle:

This instrument utilizes an indenter loaded by a calibrated spring. The measured hardness is determined by the penetration depth of the indenter under the load. For shore D, the indenter is a hardened steel rod 1.1 mm – 1.4 mm in diameter, with a 30° conical point and 0.1 mm radius tip.
